The estate is located in the commune of St-Laurent-des-Combes Saint-Emilion
(Bordeaux). It was founded by Louis-François de Belcier at the end of the 17th century; the Château "Belle Fontaine" (beautiful fountain) was then built in 1803. It remained in the possession of this family until 1871. After several changes of ownership, the estate has been owned by Jacques Berrebi, Alain Laguillaumie and Dominique Hebrard since 1994. The establishment is classified as a "Grand Cru Classé", which was last confirmed in 2012. The vineyards cover 13 hectares of vines with the varieties Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (20%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%). The long-lived red wine matures in new barriques for up to 20 months.
