The winery is located in the municipality of Barsac in the Sauternes region (Bordeaux). The estate, which has been owned by the Fournier family since 1885, was sold to Didier Laulan in 1994. In the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, it was classified in 2nd place (Deuxième Grand Cru Classé). The vineyards cover 16 hectares and are planted with the Sémillon (63%), Sauvignon Blanc (25%) and Muscadelle (12%) varieties. The long-lasting noble sweet wine matures for 20 months in barriques, some of which are new. The second wine is called "Château de Ségur".
For my many years of work as an editor with a wine and culinary focus, I always like to inform myself about special questions at Wine lexicon. Spontaneous reading and following links often leads to exciting discoveries in the wide world of wine.
