Château de Fieuzal

Producer description of "Château de Fieuzal"

The winery is located in the municipality of Pessac-Léognan in the area of the same name in Graves (Bordeaux). The traditional estate once belonged to the La Rochefoucauld family, after the Second World War from 1945 to the Swedish Böcke family, from 1974 to 2001 Gérard Gribelin, until it was finally bought by the Irish businessman Lochlann Quinn in 2001. The vineyards cover 48 hectares. Of these, 39 hectares are planted with the red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (33%), Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot (together 7%), and nine hectares with the white wine varieties Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc (50% each). Only the red wine is classified as "Cru Classé". The long-lasting Grand Vin is aged in half new barriques. The second wine is called "L'Abeille de Fieuzal".
