The winery is located in the Côtes de Bourg appellation (Bordeaux). It has been owned by the Bassereau family since 1900 and is now managed by Philippe Bassereau. The vineyards cover 43 hectares and are planted with Merlot (78%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%) and Cot (2%). The flagship of the estate is the red wine "Nectar" made from 90% Merlot, which is matured in 100% new barriques. The "Charactère" is made with a higher proportion of Cabernet Sauvignon. The second wine is called "Château La Croix de Bel-Air-Tradition" with a higher proportion of Cot.
The Wine lexicon helps me to keep up to date and refresh my knowledge. Thank you for this Lexicon that will never end in terms of topicality! That's what makes it so exciting to come back often.
