The vineyard is located in the municipality of Martillac in the Pessac-Léognan area of Graves (Bordeaux). The name is derived from a fortification called "Roche-Morine", which stood here against the Moorish invasions of the 7th and 8th centuries. In 1973, the estate was acquired by André Lurton (1924-2019). He cleared the forest on the highest hill in Martillac and planted vineyards on the gravel soil. The vineyards cover a total of 105 hectares of vines, of which 87 hectares are planted with the red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and 18 hectares with the white wine variety Sauvignon Blanc. A state-of-the-art, fully automated grape selection system was installed in 2010. The long-life red wine matures for 12 months and the long-life white wine for 10 months in barriques, around a third of which are new.
