Château du Cedre

The estate is located in the commune of Vire-sur-Lot Cahors in the region Southwest France, It was founded in 1958 by Charles Verhaeghe with one hectare of vines at the time. Today it is run by his sons Jean-Marc and Pascal Verhaeghe. The vineyards cover 27 hectares of vineyards planted with the red varieties Malbec, here also called Auxerrois or Côt (90%), Merlot and Tannat, as well as the white varieties Viognier, Sémillon, Muscadelle and Sauvignon Blanc. The Cahors luxury version "Le Cèdre" is expanded in new barriques. The red wines are partly by means of micro-oxygenation prepares. In 2000, the Domaine Marcevol winery with 12 hectares of vineyards in the area Cotes du Roussillon accepted.
