Château du Glana

The winery is located in the municipality of Beychevelle in the area Saint-Julien in the Médoc (Bordeaux). In the Bordeaux Classification after the old now no longer valid system, it was last classified in 2003 as "Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel". It was founded in 1870, at that time the property consisted of several separate plots of land Château Saint-Pierre, Since 1961 it is owned by Gabriel Meffre. There is no château, the winery is surrounded by vineyards. These cover 43 hectares of vineyards, with the varieties Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (30%) and Cabernet Franc (5%) are planted. The long-lived red wine is aged for 12 months in 45% new oak barrels. The second wines are called "Pavillon du Glana" and "Château Sirène".
