Château Fakra

The winery with its headquarters in Kesrouan in the Kfardebian Valley in Lebanon was founded in 1985 by Dr. Carlos Adem. The origin goes back to a distillery that has been in the family for 300 years. The company's own vineyards with 20 hectares of vines are located at an altitude of 1,400 to 1,500 meters above sea level near Ehmez. In addition, there are another 20 hectares leased in the Bekaatal. They are planted with the red wine varieties Cabernet Sauvignon, Cinsaut, Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre and Syrah, as well as with the white wine varieties Clairette and Ugni Blanc (Trebbiano). The premium wine is the Cuvée Château Fakra (Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvèdre, Syrah, Grenache, Cinsaut). Other brands are Blanc Esternel, Château Fakra Cabernet Sauvignon, Cuvée du Temple Rouge, Rosé d'Atargatis, Pinacle de Farka and Fakra Blanc de Blancs. Around 240,000 bottles of wine are produced annually, 40% of which are exported to France, Canada and Russia.
