The winery is located in the commune of Listrac-Médoc or the area of the same name in the Médoc (Bordeaux). It was last classified as a Cru Bourgeois Superieur in 2003 in the Bordeaux classification according to the old system, which is no longer valid. It has been owned by the Chanfreau family, who returned from Algeria, since 1962 and has been managed by Jean Chanfreau since 1981. The vineyards cover 34 hectares and are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (65%), Merlot (30%) and Petit Verdot (5%). The long-lasting red wine matures in 33% new barriques. The second wine is called "La Tourelle du Château Fonréaud". The white wine "Le Cygne Blanc" is produced from two hectares.
There is a vast number of sources on the web where one can acquire knowledge about wine. But none has the scope, timeliness and accuracy of the information in the encyclopaedia at wein.plus. I use it regularly and rely on it.
