The French winery is located in Saint-Émilion in the Bordeaux wine-growing region. Five estates with the Corbin part of the name, which today lie close together, once belonged to a single estate whose origins date back to the 15th century. According to legend, the area bordering Pomerol once belonged to the Prince of Wales, known as the "Black Prince", Edward of Woodstock (1330-1376). Today, it is owned by the Despagne family, now in its seventh generation, whose winemaking history dates back to the 17th century. The estate is classified as a Grand Cru Classé. The vineyards cover 24 hectares and are planted with Merlot (75%), Cabernet Franc (24%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (1%). The long-lasting red wine matures for 18 months in barriques, some of which are new. The second wine is called "Petit Corbin-Despagne".
