Château Haut-Chaigneau

The winery is located in the municipality of Néac in the Lalande de Pomerol area (Bordeaux). The origins of the estate date back to the beginning of the 18th century, with the royal notary André Garde named as the first owner. The name part "Chaigneau" is possibly derived from the Latin term "Castanea" (chestnut). Today it is owned by André Chatonnet, who also owns Château Le Sergue. The vineyards cover 15 hectares and are planted with Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (15%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%). The long-lasting red wine is matured for 12 to 14 months in barriques, one third of which are new. The second wine is called "Château La Croix Chaigneau".
