Château Haut-Sarpe

The winery is close Saint-Emilion (Bordeaux) in the same area. It was founded in 1750 by Pierre Beylot. Since 1930, it has been owned by the Janoueix family, which operates further wineries and a wine trade. The farm is classified as "Grand Cru Classé", which was last confirmed in 2012. The vineyards cover 21 hectares of vineyards with mostly around 50-year-old vines. They are with the varieties Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Franc (30%). The long-lived red wine is aged for 12 months in 30% new barrels. The second wine is called "Chateau Vieux Sarpe".
