Château Haut-Sarpe

The winery is close by Saint-Emilion (Bordeaux) in the area of the same name. It was founded by Pierre Beylot in 1750. It has been owned by the Janoueix family since 1930, who runs other wineries and a wine trade. The establishment is classified as a "Grand Cru Classé", which was last confirmed in 2012. The vineyards cover 21 hectares of vineyards with mostly vines around 50 years old. They are with the varieties Merlot (70%) and Cabernet Franc (30%). The long-lived red wine is aged for 12 months in 30% new barriques. The second wine is called "Chateau Vieux Sarpe".
