The winery is located in the commune of Moulis (Moulis-en-Médoc) in the area of the same name in the Médoc(Bordeaux). It was last classified as a Cru Bourgeois in 2003 in the Bordeaux classification according to the old system, which is no longer valid. However, the estate has nothing to do with the Beaujolais Cru site Moulin-à-Vent. There have been many changes of ownership; the estate was successively owned by the Dourthe wine trading house, as well as the Kaskoreff, Gilbon and Darricarrère families. The latter sold the estate to Dominique and Marie-Hélène Hessel in 1977. The vineyards cover 25 hectares and are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (60%), Merlot (38%) and Petit Verdot (2%). The long-lasting red wine is matured in barriques. The second wine is called "Moulin-de-St-Vincent".
The Wine lexicon helps me to keep up to date and refresh my knowledge. Thank you for this Lexicon that will never end in terms of topicality! That's what makes it so exciting to come back often.
