The family winery is located in the municipality of Mormoiron in the Vaucluse département in the French wine-growing region of Rhône. Its origins date back to 1970, when Odette and René Bastide bought an old vineyard that was almost in ruins. Daughter Edith and her husband Paul Chaudière initially worked as doctors. After studying at "l'Université du Vin de Suze-La-Rousse" and "lycée viticole d'Orange", as well as study trips to France in Bordeaux and Burgundy, and Napa Valley and Oregon in the USA, they took over the business in 1985 and acquired more vineyards. Since 2003, their sons Alexandre and Frédéric have continued the family tradition. The entire operation is run according to environmentally friendly rules of sustainability. The energy for the entire farm is generated entirely by their own photovoltaic system.

Château Pesquié

The vineyards cover 100 hectares. The white wine varieties Clairette, Chardonnay, Muscat Blanc, Roussanne and Viognier, as well as the red wine varieties Carignan Noir (Mazuelo), Cinsault (Cinsaut), Grenache Noir (Garnacha Tinta) and Syrah are cultivated. After organic cultivation with certification from ECOCERT, the estate switched to biodynamic viticulture. DEMETER certification took place in 2019. A maximum yield limit of 20 hl/ha applies to the top red wines.

The product range includes rosé wines, red wines and white wines AOC Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise and Ventoux as well as IGP wines (country wines). The premium wines of the house are TERRASSES (60% Grenache Noir and 40% Syrah), QUINTESSENCE ROUGE (80% Syrah and 20% Grenache Noir, 12 months in concrete tank and 36 months in barrique) and QUINTESSENCE BLANC (80% Roussanne and 20% Cleirette, 6 months in 600-l-wood barrel). Between 500,000 and 600,000 bottles are produced annually. Around 80% are exported to Germany, Denmark, England, Canada, Japan and the USA..
