The vineyard is located in the commune of Montagne, one of the satellites of the Saint-Émilion area (Bordeaux). The vineyard dates back to the 18th century. The estate is owned by Jacques Capdemourlin. He also owns the wine estates Château Balestard La Tonnelle and Château Cap-de-Mourlin. The estate covers 42 hectares of land, of which 30 hectares are planted with Merlot (60%), Cabernet Franc (25%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (15%). The long-lasting red wine is matured for 15 to 18 months in barriques, one third of which are new, and marketed under the name "Montagne Saint-Émilion". From 1997 to 2003, the reserve version "L'As de Roudier" was also produced.
