The small appellation is located around the small town of Die in the department Drôme
in the east of the winegrowing region Rhone
, The area around the city is called Diois, which means "in the country at the Drôme". The AC is named after the municipality located on the Drôme tributary Bez. The vineyards cover about 60 hectares of vineyards on the slopes of the upper Drômetals. Red wine and rosé are mainly blended from Gamay, as well as up to 25% Syrah and Pinot Noir. The white wine is made from Aligoté and Chardonnay.
