Chinosol

Chinosol W (trade name) is an antifungal fungicide, which consists of the active ingredients hydroxyquinoline sulfate and potassium sulfate. In viticulture it is preventative against Botrytis and pathogenic soil fungi in fine vines and documents at the finishing used. For this purpose, they are immersed for 12 to 18 hours in a 0.5% Chinosollösung. The remedy was provided by the longtime director of the institute Geisenheim Dr. Helmut Becker (1927-1990) successfully introduced in the 1960s. The hitherto high losses due to botrytis infestation during refining could be drastically reduced. See also under nursery,
