Cims de Porrera

Cooperative based in the municipality of Porrera in the Spanish DOCa area Priorato (Catalonia). "Cims" refers to the mountain peaks around Porrera. It was founded in 1996 and invested heavily in winery and technology. The winemakers are involved in the management of the vineyards and in the vinification of Professor José Luis Pérez (owner of Mas Martinet ) and his daughter Sara. In part, over one-hundred-year-old Garnatxa and Carineña vines are cultivated, yielding extremely low yields. Previously, the grapes were sent to the winery Vall-Llach and there the two wines "Clàssic" and (as a second wine) "Solanes" vinified. Now these are produced in the cooperative winery. They are also bottled in oversize formats like Magnum.
