The white grape variety (also EM 573-11) is a new breed between Carignan Blanc x Cinsault, This pedigree only emerged in 2012 DNA analysis, which was based on only 20 markers (see under molecular Genetics ). Until then, the parenthood Ugni Blanc specified in the breeding list was valid ( Trebbiano Toscano ) x Clairette Blanche ( Clairette ). The cross was made in 1953 by Paul Truel (* 1924) on behalf of INRA at the Domaine de Vassal in Montpellier, The variety is in the department Hérault in the Languedoc grown. In 2010, six hectares of vineyards were designated (Kym Anderson ).
