The white grape variety comes from France. It must not be confused with the independent Claverie variety (Claverie Blanc). According to DNA analyses carried out in 2013, it comes from a presumably natural cross between Ardonnet (red) x Crouchen (white). However, this is based on only 20 DNA markers (see molecular genetics). It is an all-female grape variety. In 2016 no stocks were reported (statistics Kym Anderson).
