Coda di Pecora

The white grape variety originates from Italy; the name derived from the grape shape means "sheep's tail". It should not be confused with the Coda di Volpe Bianca variety, with which it was long considered identical. DNA analyses carried out in 2005 clarified its independence and established a relationship with the San Pietro variety. It is grown in small quantities mainly in the province of Caserta in Campania, where the rather neutral white wines are used as blends. However, no stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).
