Coin Rieder Johann

The estate is located in the municipality Apetlon in the middle of the National Park "Neusiedlersee-Seewinkel" in Burgenland wine region Lake Neusiedl (Austria). It is run by Johann Münzenrieder, son Johannes is responsible for the cellar. The vineyards cover 22 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Fuchsloch, Illmitzer way and Neubruch. They are 60% with the white varieties Chardonnay, Welschriesling, Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc, Traminer, Muscat and seedling 88, and planted to 40% with the red varieties Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Blaufränkisch , Merlot and Pinot Noir. It is consistently practiced near-natural viticulture with rigorous yield restriction. About 10% of the production are sweet wines, special specialties are Beerenauslese, Trockenbeerenauslese and Eiswein. Dry-aged premium wines are the "Zweigelt Illmitzerweg" matured in oak barrels, the "Cuvée Neubruch" (Cabernet Sauvignon, Zweigelt) and the cuvée "Mavie" (CS, Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch ), which was first vinified in 2002. Every year around 250,000 bottles of wine are produced.
