DOC area for red wines and white wines in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. The zone includes the municipalities of Brisighella, Casola Valsenio, Castel Bolognese, Faenza and Riolo Terme in the province of Ravenna, and the municipalities of Modigliana and Tredozio in the province of Forlì-Cesena. The single-varietal wines are made from 100% of the respective variety. These are the red wine Sangiovese (also as Riserva), as well as the white wines Pinot Bianco = Pinot Blanc and Trebbiano = Trebbiano Romagnolo. The Bianco is blended from Chardonnay (40-60%), as well as any mixture of Pignoletto, Pinot Bianco, Sauvignon = Sauvignon Bl anc and Trebbiano Romagnolo (60-40%). The Rosso (also as Riserva) is produced from Cabernet Sauvignon (40-60%), as well as in any blend of Ancellotta, Ciliegiolo, Merlot and Sangiovese (60-40%).
For me, Lexicon from wein.plus is the most comprehensive and best source of information about wine currently available.
