DOC area for red wines and white wines in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. The zone includes the municipalities of Borgo Tossignano, Casalfiumanese, Castel San Pietro Terme, Dozza, Imola and Ozzano dell'Emilia in the province of Bologna. The single-varietal wines must contain at least 85% of the respective variety. These are the red wines Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese, and the white wines Chardonnay, Pignoletto and Trebbiano Romagnolo. Rosso and Bianco are blended in any mixture of one or more authorised red or white varieties. A Riserva is available from Rosso (also as Novello), as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. There is a Frizzante from all white wines and from Barbera. If the grapes come from classified vineyards, Vigna can be indicated followed by the name of the vineyard.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
