DOC area for reds, rosé wines and white wines in the Italian region Piedmont in the province of Novara. The area covers approximately 130 hectares of vines in the municipalities Agrate Conturbia, Barengo, Boca, Bogogno, Borgomanero, Briona, Cavaglietto, Cavaglio d'Agogna, Cavallirio, Cressa, Cureggio, Fara Novarese, Fontaneto d'Agogna, Gattico, Ghemme, Grignasco, Maggiora, Marano Ticino, Mezzomerico, Oleggio, Prato Sesia, Romagnano Sesia, Sizzano, Suno, Vaprio d'Agogna and Veruno.
The white wine Bianco is 100% varietal from the variety Erbaluce produced. The two types of wine Rosso and Rosato (both also as Novello ) are from the variety Spanna = Nebbiolo (to 50%), as well as other approved varieties (max 50%). The varietal red wines must contain at least 85% of each variety. These are Barbera. Croatina, Nebbiolo, Uva Rara and Vespolina, All of these wines can be made from grapes from classified vineyards Vigna followed by the name of the layer on label be specified.
