Comtessa

The white grape variety (also Geilweilerhof 35-26-139, Komtesa) is a new variety of unknown origin. According to a DNA analysis published in 2012, the entry "(Madeleine Angevine x Roter Traminer) F2" in the breeding list turned out to be wrong. In any case, Riesling was involved, but not directly as the mother or father variety. The cross was made at the Geilweilerhof in Siebeldingen-Pfalz by the breeders Peter Morio (1887-1960), Bernhard Husfeld (1900-1970) and Gerhardt Erich Alleweldt (1927-2005). No stocks were reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson).
