Conegliano (grape variety)

The white grape variety (also Dalmasso XIII-11) is, according to the breeding list entry, a new breeding between Hárslevelű x Malvasia Trevisana (Malvasia Trevigiana = Malvasia Bianca Lunga). The father variety was adopted ex VIVC catalogue because "Trevigiana" means "the Trevisan". According to DNA analyses, however, neither Hárslevelü nor Malvasia Bianca Lunga come into question. The actual parentage is therefore unknown. The cross was made at the Istituto Sperimentale per la Viticoltura in Conegliano (Veneto) in 1936 by the Italian breeder Giovanni Dalmasso (1886-1974). No stock was reported in 2016 (Kym Anderson statistics).

However, there are also several table grapes named Conegliano and then the following number 120, 199 (Conegliano Précoce), 213 and 218, which were also crossed at this institute from the varieties Italia x Volta.
