Confrérie du Saber d'Or

The French Brotherhood was founded in 1986 in the Champagne founded. In the meantime, there are also offshoots in some other countries. The German association has set itself the goal, the knowledge of history, production, care, culture and handling of and with champagne to promote and disseminate. The symbol of the Brotherhood is the Golden Saber, the Saber d'Or, with which the Chevaliers die Champagne bottle to open. This art is called sabrage (Champagne heads). In addition to cultivating champagne traditions, the association is dedicated above all to German-French cultural exchanges and relationships with other similar associations and champagne producers. An important commitment of the Confrérie are donations to charity. The funds result from various activities, such as surpluses from the annual "Chapitre de la Fleur" (Wine Blossom Festival), raffles, gifts from champagne houses and other sponsors, as well as membership dues.
