The German association has set itself the goal of knowing about history, manufacture, care, culture and dealing with and with champagne to promote and disseminate. The symbol of the brotherhood is the golden saber, the Saber d'Or, with which the Chevaliers die Champagne bottle to open. This art is called sabrage (Champagne heads). In addition to cultivating champagne traditions, the association is primarily devoted to Franco-German cultural exchange and relationships with other similar associations and champagne producers. Donations to charitable causes are an important commitment of the Confrérie. The funds result from various activities, which are surpluses from the annual "Chapitre de la Fleur" (wine blossom festival), raffles, donations from champagne houses and other sponsors, as well as from membership fees.
