The cooperative winery is located in the municipality of Villafranca de los Barros (Badajoz province) in the DO Ribera del Guadiana in the Tierra de Barros sub-area of the Spanish region of Extremadura. It was founded in 1963 and is one of the largest cooperatives in Extremadura with 1,100 members. Mainly the red wine varieties Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, as well as the white wine varieties Pardina, Macabeo, Montúa and Cayetana Blanca are cultivated. Up to 40 million kilograms of grapes are processed annually. The DO wines are marketed under the designation "Vina Canchal", the table wines under the designation "Delcanchal". The country wines are bottled in bag-in-box containers of 5, 15 or 20 litres.
