corkage

corkage (GB)
In some restaurants or bars, you may in certain circumstances be allowed to consume your own wine bottles (usually for larger, closed events). For this then per consumed bottle (drawn cork) a so-called cork money (in Austria also stubble money) is charged, whose amount is very different (usually one third of the value). In New Zealand and Australia there are special BYO (Bring Your Own) designated restaurants where this is common.
