corkage (GB)

In some restaurants or bars, under certain circumstances, you are allowed to consume bottles of wine you bring with you (mostly at larger, closed events). This is then consumed by bottle or pulled cork a so-called cork fee (in Austria also stubble allowance), the amount of which varies greatly (usually a third of the value). In New Zealand and Australia there are special restaurants called BYO (Bring Your Own) where this is common.
