CorkScrewCape

New wine bottle closure from South Africa, developed by the Ross Design company. This is a combination of the two types of closure, screw cap and cork. From the side, the new product looks like a normal screw cap, but from above it looks like a cork with a metal rim. It can be opened with a corkscrew, but also with a twisting motion. The cork is a so-called agglomerate (agglomerated corks). This type of closure is still being tested and is not yet in use by any producer (as of mid-2008). See also under closures.

Serious sources on the internet are rare - and Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one such source. When researching for my articles, I regularly consult the wein.plus encyclopaedia. There I get reliable and detailed information.
