The commune appellation, with around 300 hectares of vineyards, is located in the Côte de Nuits part of the Burgundy Côte d'Or and includes the communes of Brochon, Comblanchien, Corgoloin, Fixin, Marsannay and Prémeaux-Prissey. It produces almost exclusively red wine from Pinot Noir with shares of Pinot Gris and Pinot Liébault. The small quantities of white wine are made from Chardonnay with shares of Pinot Blanc.
