Appellation in the southern section of the Rhône wine-growing region. Sometimes it is already counted as part of Provence. The vineyards, with around 450 hectares of vines in 42 communes, are located on the right bank of the Durance around the towns of Forcalquier, Manosque and Peyruis in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence département. Red wine and rosé are blended from Carignan Noir (Mazuelo), Cinsaut, Grenache Noir (Garnacha Tinta), Mourvèdre (Monastrell), Oeillade Noire, Syrah and Terret Noir. The white wine consists of Clairette, Marsanne, Picpoul (Piquepoul), Roussanne and Ugni Blanc (Trebbiano Toscano).
