AOC area in the east of the French wine region Provence with around four fifths of the area. Around 80% of the production is rose wine, which is filled in a special, conical bottle.
Red wine and rosé are made up of at least two and a total of at least 80% of the main varieties Cinsault, Grenache Noir ( Garnacha Tinta ), Mourvèdre ( Monastrell ) Syrah and Tibouren, the secondary varieties Barbaroux. Cabernet Sauvignon, Pécoui Touar ( Calitor Noir ) and Carignan Noir ( mazuelo ) and a maximum of 10% white varieties blended. The white wines are made from the varieties Clairette. Sémillon, Ugni Blanc ( Trebbiano Toscano ) and role ( Vermentino ) generated. A sub-appellation created in 2005 is Côtes de Provence Sainte-Victoire , which comprises seven municipalities on the foothills of the eponymous mountain. It only applies to rosé and red wines.
