The largest, ancient Roman hollow measure or leather bag (tube) with the volume of 524 litres (more than two barrique barrels = 450 l). It was used in ancient Rome to transport liquids such as wine and oil. One culleus held about 20 amphorae. The glossary is a monumental achievement and one of the most important contributions to wine knowledge. Of all the encyclopaedias I use on the subject of wine, it is by far the most important. That was the case ten years ago and it hasn't changed since.
