Daytona

The white grape variety (also Florida F 4-16) is an interspecific new breeding between Florida B 3-90 (Florida 1001 x Villard Blanc) x Exotic (Alphonse Lavallée x Flame Tokay). It contains genes from Vitis aestivalis, Vitis berlandieri, Vitis rupestris and Vitis vinifera. The hybrid was crossed in 1964 in Florida-USA by the breeder L. H. Stover. It is resistant to the grapevine disease Pierce Disease. The variety is used as a wine grape variety and table grape. It is cultivated in California and Brazil.
