The white grape variety (also Debin) comes from Albania; the name means "White Debina". The parentage is unknown. The variety Debine e Zezë (Debine e Zi) may be a color mutation (or the other way around). According to in 2005 DNA analysis there may be genetic links to the two Albanian varieties Debina Kala and Debina Teki, as well as the Greek variety Debina, It is grown in small quantities around the cities of Përmet and Këlcyrë in the southeast of Albania. No stocks were shown in 2010 (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
