The white grape variety (also Debin) comes from Albania; the name means "White Debina". The parentage is unknown. Maybe the variety Debine e Zezë (Debine e Zi) is a color mutation (or the other way around). According to 2005 DNA analysis There may be genetic links to the two Albanian species Debina Kala and Debina Teki, as well as the Greek variety Debina, It is grown in small quantities around the towns of Përmet and Këlcyrë in the southeast of Albania. No stocks were reported in 2010 (Statistics Kym Anderson ).
