The Alfred Markus Deim winery is located in the municipality of Schönberg in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Kamptal. It has been family-owned since 1772. The vineyards cover 18 hectares of vineyards in two wine-growing regions, as one part is located next to the Kamptal in the Wachau. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (over half of the vineyard area), Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Malvasier (Frühroter Veltliner), Rivaner (Müller-Thurgau), Gelber Muskateller and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as with the red wine varieties Zweigelt and Pinot Noir. The vineyards are cultivated close to nature according to the KIP (Controlled Integrated Production) guidelines, which is also documented by the farm's symbol, the lizard. This includes, for example, cover crop, resulting in a high population of beneficial insects such as predatory mites and ladybirds, which reduces chemical plant protection by herbicides to a minimum. Quality criteria are pruning, shoot thinning, foliage care to aerate the vines and thinning. Only healthy and ripe grapes are harvested by hand. The mainly very dry wines are matured in steel tanks, large wooden barrels or small barrique bar rels, depending on the type of wine. In addition, the wine range also includes Prädikat wines. The winery is a member of the "Schönberger Stoamandl" association.
