Delea

Vini & Distillati Angelo Delea SA" in Losone (Valle Maggia) in the Swiss canton of Ticino was founded in 1983 by Angelo Delea. The former restaurateur set himself the goal of producing Merlot wines adequately Bordeaux. His own vineyards cover 20 hectares, the six hectares of the Castello di Cantone are also cultivated and grapes are purchased. Up to 250,000 bottles of wine are produced annually, as well as 100,000 bottles of sparkling wine called "Charme" from Merlot. Premium wines include "Carato" (from old Merlot vines), "Merlot Rosso del Mago" and the white wine cuvée "Bianco Ticinese Castello di Cantone" (Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon). It also produces fruit brandies and grappa.
