The winery is located in the municipality of Obermarkersdorf in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Weinviertel. The family has been growing grapes and trading wine here since 1848. The winery was taken over in 2000 by Gerald Diem and his wife Andrea, the fifth generation of the family, after six months of practice in Pomerol (Bordeaux). The vineyards cover 18 hectares of vines in the Breiten, Satz, Sündlasberg, Nussberg and Triftberg vineyards. They are 80% planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Muscat and Sauvignon Blanc, and 20% with the red wine varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent and Roesler. Natural, environmentally friendly viticulture is consistently practised according to the guidelines of KIP (Controlled Integrated Production). The wines are gently vinified in a way that is typical of the region and the variety. Premium wines include Chardonnay Triftberg, Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner) and the red wine cuvée Carpe (Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Rösler). In years with suitable weather conditions, an ice wine is also produced. The winery is a member of the Retzer Land Wineries Association.
