Diem Gerald

The estate is located in the municipality of Obermarkersdorf in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region Weinviertel, The family has been involved in viticulture and wine trading here since 1848. The business was taken over by Gerald Diem and his wife Andrea in the fifth generation of the family in 2000 after six months of practice in Pomerol (Bordeaux). The vineyards cover 18 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards of Breiten, Satz, Sündlasberg, Nussberg and Triftberg. They are planted 80% with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Muskateller and Sauvignon Blanc, and 20% with the red varieties Zweigelt, St. Laurent and Roesler. It is consistently natural, environmentally friendly viticulture according to the guidelines of KIP (Controlled Integrated Production) operated. The wines are matured with gentle vinification typical of the area and variety. Premium wines include Chardonnay Triftberg, Weinviertel DAC (Grüner Veltliner) and the red wine blend Carpe (Zweigelt, St. Laurent, Rösler). If the weather is suitable, an ice wine is also made.
