Dirler-Cadé

The winery is based in the municipality of Bergholtz in the French wine-growing region Alsace (Haut Rin). It was founded in 1871 by former teacher Jean Dirler. Jean-Pierre Dirler resumed operations in 1962 after the estate was deactivated for some time. Today it is run by his son Jean Dirler and his wife Ludivine. Since 1998 Biodynamic viticulture practiced. A large part of the Cadé winery was taken over, which resulted in the name being expanded to "Domaine Dirler-Cadé". However, only "Dirler" is still shown on the labels. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vineyards, of which around 40% are in Grand Cru locations. The Grand Cru varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and Muscat d'Alsace (Muscat Blanc), as well as Gutedel (Chasselas), Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Sylvaner are cultivated. The property is divided into several locations. The wines under the AC Alsace Grand Cru come from the locations Kessler. Kitterlé. Saering and mirror,
