Dirler-Cadé

The winery is located in the municipality Bergholtz located in the French wine-growing region Alsace (Haut Rin). It was founded in 1871 by former teacher Jean Dirler. Jean-Pierre Dirler resumed operations in 1962 after the estate was deactivated for some time. Today it is run by his son Jean Dirler and his wife Ludivine. Since the year 1998 becomes Biodynamic viticulture practiced. A large part of the winery Cadé was taken over, which resulted in an extension of the name to "Domaine Dirler-Cadé". On the labels, however, only "Dirler" is still listed. The vineyards cover 17 hectares, of which about 40% in Grand Cru locations. It cultivates the Grand Cru varieties Riesling, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer and Muscat d'Alsace (Muscat Blanc), as well as Chasselas, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Sylvaner.
