DIVINO Nordheim Thüngersheim

The winegrowers' cooperative "DIVINO Nordheim Thüngersheim eG" in the German Franconian winegrowing region with its headquarters in the municipality of Nordheim (Maindreieck area) was founded in 1951 under the name "DIVINO Nordheim". From 1997 a new philosophy was implemented and the production was completely changed. Since then, the company has consistently focused on quality instead of quantity. The prerequisite was a change in the work in the vineyard. Meticulous attention is paid to the adherence to the production guidelines. When pruning the vines in spring, an appropriate pruning of the vines ensures a lower, but higher quality yield. Since then, the winegrowers are not only paid according to the must weight, but the exact adherence to the work guidelines in the vineyard is also assessed by means of an evaluation sheet. In 2003, the winery moved into a newly built house, which also houses a vinotheque.

Finally, in January 2012, the company merged with the "Consilium Thüngersheim" winegrowers' cooperative, founded in 1930. Although the vinotheque and the grape reception still remain in Thüngersheim, the cellar with its functions will be moved to Nordheim. Wendelin Grass is now the managing director, Ernst Braun is responsible as cellar master. The vineyards of the 350 members comprise about 400 hectares of vineyards. The white wine varieties Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Riesling,Pinot Blanc, PinotGris, Rieslaner, Bacchus, Scheurebe, Kerner, Fontanara and Traminer as well as the red wine varietiesPinot Noir, Frühburgunder, Domina, Schwarzriesling, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon are cultivated and processed.

However, the two brands "Divino Nordheim" and "Consilium Thüngersheim" will continue to be managed separately in line with a two-brand strategy. The wines of the DIVINO-Nordheim brand are marketed in the three main lines DIVINO (red and white Burgundy varieties, partly in barrique), Juventa (tangy and fruity wines) and Franconia (from classic varieties). In addition, bottle-fermented sparkling wines, semi-sparkling wines, fine spirits(yeast, wine, grape) and liqueurs are also produced. Around 3.5 million bottles of wine are produced annually. The wines of the "Consilium Thüngersheim" brand are available exclusively in food retail stores.
