The winery is located in the municipality of Müllheim (Markgräflerland area) in the German wine-growing region of Baden. Its history goes back to the year 1411. Today it is run by Hermann Dörflinger. He was one of the first to produce fully fermented wines in Baden. The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vines in the Pfaffenstück, Reggenhag and Sonnhalde sites (Müllheim), as well as Römerberg (Badenweiler). They are 70% planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Chasselas, Silvaner, Nobling and Müller-Thurgau, and 30% with Pinot Noir. The residual sugar is noted on the label. Every year 130.000 bottles of wine are produced annually.
