The winery is located in the municipality of Cairanne (Département Vaucluse) within the French wine-growing region of the Rhône. It was founded in 1947 by André Brusset (1910-1999). Today it is managed by his son Daniel and grandson Laurent Brusset. The vineyards cover 85 hectares. The red wine varieties Grenache Noir(Garnacha Tinta), Syrah, Cinsaut, Mourvèdre(Monastrell) and Carignan Noir are cultivated, as well as the white wine varieties Grenache Blanc(Garnacha Blanca), Viognier, Roussanne and Clairette. About 90% of the production are red wines. They are partly bottled without filtration. There are extreme yield restrictions, e.g. the "Gigondas Les Secrtes de Montmirail" (Grenache Noir, Syrah) has a yield of 20 hl/ha and the "Cairanne Hommage à André Brusset" (Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre) 25 hl/ha. The AOP wines Cairanne, Côtes du Rhône, Gigondas, Rasteau and Ventoux make up by far the largest part with about 70 hectares.
