Grand Cru vineyard in the municipality of Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte d'Or region (Burgundy). It was already mentioned at the beginning of the 12th century under the former name "La Forge". In 1141, it was acquired by the St Bernardine abbey "Notre-Dame de Tart" and was given its current name. After a chequered history with several changes of ownership, the site was acquired as a monopole in 1932 by Joanny Mommessin, a wine merchant based in Mâcon (Beaujolais).
