Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe

The estate is located in the municipality of Bédarrides in the southeast of the appellation Châteauneuf-du-Pape in the region Rhone, The farm, named after an old signal tower on a hill, was founded by Hippolyte Brunier in 1898 and today run by the brothers Daniel and Frédéric Brunier in the fourth generation of the family. The vineyards cover 70 hectares of vineyards on the stony La Crau plain, with the Grenache Noir (65%), Mourvèdre (15%), Syrah (15%), Cinsault, Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Bourboulenc, Roussanne and others (5%) are planted. The vines are on average over 50 years old. It is natural, environmentally friendly viticulture with, for example, organic fertilization and pest control means pheromones operated. The vineyards are not irrigated. Special emphasis is placed on healthy grapes by means of selective hand-picking. The product range includes white and red Châteauneuf-du-Pape, The first wine matures in traditional wooden barrels for up to 20 months and is left without filtration bottled. The second wine created in 1994 is called "Télégramme". The white wine is partly aged in oak barrels. To the possession counts since 1986 also in the Appellation lying Château de la Roquette with over 30 hectares of vineyards.
