Domlay

single vineyard in the municipality of Walporzheim in the German wine-growing region of Ahr. The origin lies in a donation from 1246 to the Archbishopric of Cologne. The vineyard included in the donation remained in the possession of the canons until secularisation under Napoleon (1769-1821) at the beginning of the 19th century. The south-facing vineyards at an altitude of 110 to 250 metres above sea level with a slope of 15 to 60% comprised ten hectares of vines on stony greywacke weathered soils, as well as sandy loam on the plain. In 2017, the site was abandoned and added to the two sites Alte Lay and (the flat part) Himmelchen.
