Domlay

Single location in the municipality of Walporzheim in the German growing region of Ahr. The origin lies in a donation from the year 1246 to the archconvent of Cologne. The vineyard contained in the donation remained in the possession of the canons until the secularisation under Napoleon (1769-1821) at the beginning of the 19th century. The south-facing vineyards at an altitude of 110 to 250 metres above sea level with a slope gradient of 15 to 60% comprised ten hectares of vineyards on stony greywacke weathered soils, as well as sandy loam on the plain. In 2017 the site was abandoned and the two sites Alte Lay and (the flat part) Himmelchen were added
