The winery is located in the municipality of Spitz an der Donau on the Zornberg in the Lower Austrian wine-growing region of Wachau. It was first mentioned in documents in the 12th century and has been in the family since 1833. Attached is the Buschenschank "Altes Presshaus" with a 300-year-old tree press. The winery is run by Sighardt Donabaum. The vineyards cover 11 hectares, of which 6 hectares are on steep mountain terraces, on both sides of the Danube in the vineyards Atzberg, Auleithen, Biern, Brandstatt, Bruck, Tausendeimerberg, Steinterrassen and Zornberg. They are 90% planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Neuburger, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc, the rest with the red wine varieties Blauer Portugieser, Blaufränkisch, Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are vinified and matured with the aim of achieving varietal and terroir-specific flavours. The premium wines include, for example, Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Zornberg, Grüner Veltliner Smaragd Atzberg, Riesling Smaragd Brandstatt and Riesling Smaragd Tausendeimerberg. Noble brandies (marc, fruit) are also produced. The winery is a member of the Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus winegrowers' association.
