Donabaum Sighardt

The winery is located in the municipality Spitz on the Danube on the Zornberg in the Lower Austrian wine region Wachau, It was first mentioned in the 12th century and has been owned by the family since 1833. The "Altes Presshaus" tavern with a 300-year-old tree press is connected. The business is managed by Sighardt Donabaum. The vineyards cover 11 hectares of vineyards, including 6 hectares in steep mountain terraces, on both sides of the Danube in the vineyards Atzberg, Auleithen, Biern, Brandstatt, Bruck, Tausendeimerberg, Stone terraces and Zornberg. They are planted to 90% with the white varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Neuburger, Pinot Blanc, Gewürztraminer and Sauvignon Blanc, the rest with the red varieties Blauer Portugieser, Blaufränkisch , Zweigelt and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines are vinified and developed with the aim of varietal and terroir-specific taste.
