The winery is located in the municipality of Traisen in the German wine-growing region of Nahe. Viticulture has been practised by the family since the 16th century. Today, the estate is run by Dr Peter Crusius. The vineyards cover 17 hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Felsensteyer (Niederhausen), Kirschheck and Klosterberg (Norheim), Felsenberg and Kupfergrube (Schloßböckelheim), as well as Bastei, Kickelskopf, Nonnengarten and Rotenfels (Traisen). They are mainly planted with Riesling (65%), as well as Pinot Blanc (20%), Müller-Thurgau (5%), Pinot Noir (5%) and other Burgundy varieties (5%). The farm's criteria are quality-oriented work in the vineyard, strict selection during the grape harvest and gentle vinification in wooden barrels. In addition to dry wines, ice wines are also produced in suitable years. Around 90,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Bottle-fermented sparkling wine and yeast brandy are also produced. The winery is a member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates).
