The red grape variety (also Geilweilerhof FS. 4-195-39) is an interspecific new variety between Geisenheim 157 (Riesling x Solonis) x Riesling. It contains genes from Vitis acerifolia, Vitis riparia and Vitis vinifera. The crossing of the hybrids was done by Bernhard Husfeld (1900-1970) at the Institute Geilweilerhof (Pfalz). It is a purely female grape variety. It is used as a wine grape and as a rootstock. In 2016 no stock was reported (Kym Anderson).

In the past, you needed a wealth of encyclopaedias and specialist literature to keep up to date in your vinophile professional life. Today, Wine lexicon from wein.plus is one of my best helpers and can rightly be called the "bible of wine knowledge".
